Questionnaire statements
- Abortion: Prohibiting abortions except to save the life of the mother.
- Choice in Education: Expanding parental choice through tax credits or vouchers to allow children to attend any public or private school of the parents choosing.
- Hate Crimes: Expanding hate crime statutes to provide homosexuals with enhanced protections.
- Public Preschools: Prohibiting public preschool programs to children under the age of 5 years except as mandated by federal law.
- Religious Liberty: Passing stronger legal protection for religious liberties and rights of conscience from coercive or intrusive government laws and actions.
- Physician-Assisted Suicide: Treating physician-assisted suicide as a criminal offense.
- Balanced Budget: Requiring government spending to be cut, rather than taxes increased, in a budget shortfall.
- Marriage: Prohibiting the recognition or validation of “Civil Unions” or “Domestic Partnerships” between unmarried persons in Idaho.
- Health Care: Requiring federally mandated health insurance to be purchased by all individuals.
- Cloning: Treating the cloning of human embryos as a criminal offense.
- Stem Cell Research: Prohibiting embryonic stem cell research.
- Pornography: Requiring filters that block all obscene materials on computers operated by public schools or libraries.
- Home Education: Permitting students taught at home to be free from state required registration or testing.
- Immigration: Providing amnesty for illegal immigrants.
- Adoption: Giving preference to married couples over unmarried persons among applicants for adoptions.
- Abstinence-Based Sex Education: Giving priority to abstinence-based sex education over “safe sex” teaching in public schools.
- Tax Policy: Funding budget shortfalls by increasing taxes on the wealthy.
- Evolution: Requiring public schools to teach the science on both sides of the debate over the evolutionary theory.
